Whether you just want to record Mid and End of Year Reviews or you want to record coaching, wellbeing or development based check-ins and meetings, you can create any number of custom templates for use in the Overview Statements / Review Meetings area.
BlueSky provides a default template for appraisal based meetings, this template can be linked to the user's objectives, provides pay recommendation and pay scale information but once you create your own custom template you can switch this off or you can keep this available as part of your template offer.
Creating your templates
- Head into Admin and select Templates from the left navigation menu, once expanded select Form Fields from the sub-menu
- All templates are built from selecting and curating form fields, so we need to create these first. We've made our default ones available as well should you wish to use these pre-populated ones. You can see these in the BlueSky Form Fields tab
Form Fields
There are 3 types of fields:
- Dropdown
Create a list of options that a user can select from. - Text Line
Creates a heading with a narrow text 'line' field. - Text Block
Creates a heading with a large text 'block' field.
Both the text line and text block have the same character limit (65,535) but are formatted differently to elicit different response lengths.
Creating a new dropdown
- Label - this is the heading for the dropdown i.e. Has the induction handbook been issued and read?
- Options - these are the options that populate your dropdown list. Each option must be separated by a comma i.e. Yes, No, Not Applicable, Issued but not read.
- Help text - if you need to provide instructions or supporting information on how to complete the field i.e. If the individual is a returning member of staff, this may not be applicable.
The options will appear in the order you created them.
As you begin building your form fields, you will be able to see and review any you have created in the past or during this current build.
Create a Text Line or Text Block
Whether it's a line or a block, both are made with a heading and optional help text. As mentioned, the text line is a narrower field which would promote shorter or limited responses whereas the text block may promote more in-depth responses.
