By now you will have signed in and had a look around your account. If not, take a few minutes to navigate around and see what's available for you.
When you sign in you will land on your dashboard, it's going to look a little empty to begin with.
- Click on the user icon or your profile image (if already available) in the top right corner, this is your account menu.
Here you can access your profile, head to BlueSky Learning or Sign Out. We're going to click on Edit Profile.
Initially, unless your organisation's administrator has completed any fields for you, this will only have your name and email address. Feel free to complete any fields you wish, we're going to go through the key ones.
Professional Standard Reviews
- Select the relevant Occupation from the dropdown menu.
- Next, select the relevant profession/title from Relevant Standard.
- This will update and allow you to choose which collection of standards or qualifications you wish to review against in Working towards.
- Finally, select your Level.
If you are a Teacher it might look like this:
Profile Image
Apart from your dashboard and profile page, your image appears when creating notes, comments and in BlueSky's community and collaboration features such as Projects and Journals.
- Click Choose file or Browse and find an image you'd like to use.
Once you have chosen an image, the default one is no longer available. Simply upload a new one to replace it, should you wish to remove your initial upload.
Notification and Privacy Settings
We recommend checking the box to receive a daily notifications email. But don't worry, this isn't another spam email or something else clogging up your mailbox.
You will receive one email, per day IF any activity has occurred the previous day, that is relevant and connected to you. i.e. a CPD request is approved or your manager has commented on your target.
This can be helpful in terms of timelines of activity and quick link access to the relevant activities. But if nothing happens the day before, you simply do not get an email.
Last but not least...
Lastly, we mentioned Projects and BlueSky's community features, which are contained within the BlueSky system. As an organisation and user, you can network, share and work with other organisations and experts across the system.
By changing your Profile visibility, you can become visible to colleagues in organisations across the world or around the corner and connect directly or through Projects. Share best practice, join coaching or skillshare discussions or create your own!
You can then choose how much information to share, if completed, using the Profile content option.
Once you're happy with everything press Save.
