If you have read our previous articles, you'll know that when creating Discussions and comments within the threads, you can upload files to support discussions and share them with other project members. These uploads automatically populate the projects Resources area.
Resources can be any valid file type and URLs can also be added. You might choose to use URLs to a cloud-based file such as anything in your Google Drive or OneDrive for example.
Adding and Managing your Resources
Select the Resources tab on your project.
Select Upload File (or Add Link).
If this is the first time you are uploading directly to Resources you will need to accept the Terms & Conditions.
Give your file a name in the Label field.
At this point, you can start building Resource categories to easily group and filter particular types of resources later on. Enter the name of the category you would like to use in the Category field.
Locate your file on your machine and then press Upload file.
Now we can see any existing files plus our latest upload and its associated category. This also enables a Filter on the right-hand side using the categories.
If you want to apply a category to a resource that came from a discussion, simply select Edit on the file. Here you can create a new category or simply select from any existing categories.
Once selected press Update project file to save your changes.
Adding links (URLs) works exactly the same way and can be categorised too.
