Why am I being directed to the National College when I try to log into People Development?
Unified login across People Development and The National College
All users will now have one account and one login to access all their subscriptions across the People Development and The National College platforms.
What has changed?
- If you have access to People Development and The National College, you previously you had two separate logins for each platform.
- Now you only need to log in once using a single set of login details.
- Your accounts across People Development and The National College will be linked by your email address.
Who is affected?
- All users who have both a People Development and a National College subscription who do not use Single Sign-On (SSO) or Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) use.
- Schools using SSO or MFA will continue to log in using their existing methods. This update will not change your current login process.
When you log in to People Development:
- If you login via People Development:
- You'll now be redirected to The National College login page. You'll see a banner explaining the changes:

- Log in with your usual People Development credentials.
- After logging in, you'll see the usual People Development dashboard.
When you log in to The National College:
- If you login via The National College:
- You’ll land on your Task List page and can navigate to your subscriptions or free CPD content from there.
- People Development can be accessed via the link in the left hand navigation within The National College site:

How do I log in? Do I need new login details?
- You’ll continue using your existing login details. If you have accounts on both platforms with the same email, you’ll use your National College credentials.
- If you have a People Development account but no account for The National College, a free account for The National College will be created automatically for you.
- When you land on the login page, enter your existing People Development login credentials.
What if I have different email addresses for People Development and The National College?
- Your accounts won’t link automatically.
- Please contact support so we can help.
What if my school uses Single Sign-On (SSO) or Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
- Schools using SSO or MFA will continue to log in using their existing methods. This update will not change your current login process.
What if I’ve forgotten my password?
- You can reset your password on The National College login page. Any reset will update your access across both platforms.

Will my account details stay synced?
- Yes. Updates to your name, email address, or account status on one platform will now automatically apply to the other.
Why am I landing on a different page after logging in?
- Some users may land on The National College Task List instead of the People Development dashboard. This depends on where you started your login and which subscriptions your account has.
- You can still navigate to all your subscriptions from there using the options in the left hand navigation.
What happens if I don’t have a People Development subscription?
- If you try to log in via the People Development page but don’t have a People Development subscription, you’ll be redirected to The National College dashboard instead.
What happens if I don't have an account with The National College?

A free account will be created for you which will allow you to access free CPD content. You can access this via the link in the left hand navigation:
